Edward Fay was influenced at a young age by the works of marine artists Montague Dawson,
Carl Evers, Antonio Jacobsen and John Stobart. Born in Medford, MA in 1947 and raised in Cambridge, MA. Ed stdied art after high school before spending four years in the US Coast
Gaurd. He fished with the New England fishing fleet out of Gloucester, Boston and New Bedford
MA as well as Point Judity and Newport RI.
Edward and his wife Carlene, have resided in Newport RI for the past 34 years where they
raised their two Children. He was able to provide for his family working blue collar jobs while
making clocks, sign painting and restoring antiques, including many ship models. His art, however was always high on his priority list. Now, at the age of 63, and retired form the US Postal Service,
Edward can devote more of his time to his artwork.
